Another search engine turned Internet portal.

What can you say about excite? It's another search engine turned portal which for a while was getting it's search engine from a combination of Inktomi and LookSmart. Now, Excite is part of InfoSpace and its search results are a collection of paid Overture listings interspersed with results from a variety of other engines. In other words, it's a meta. The directory is a copy of the Open Directory.

Excite adds nothing to the Internet.
